Name: Abigail “Fetch” Walker
PB: Character model
Journal:
neongirl
Age: 23
Appearance: Quite a bit of punk when given the chance. Fetch has dyed dark pink hair, tied up messily. Her right nostril is pierced with a simple black hoop ring, and both ears are gauged with black gauges. When it comes to clothing, she tends to gravitate toward torn leggings and red shorts. However, since she is coming from her escape from the D.U.P van, she'll be in an orange jumpsuit stating as such.
She's a former druggie and a sarcastic thing, so her posture and movements tend to reflect that and her energetic and restless nature.
History: Click here for her backstory.
Powers/Talents:
[Basics:]
As a Conduit, she has increased durability and can survive long drops without suffering major injury. She also can take a few bullets, as well as physical combat. However too much can incapacitate and kill her.
[Neon:]
Fetch's power is control over Neon, an ability which was honed over her time in the D.U.P prison. She can shoot volatile bolts of neon from her hands as well as sort of a rapid fire from long distances. She can also see her enemy's weak spots, giving her the ability to quickly kill them. She can use neon in order to put her enemies in a short stasis, allowing her to pick off their weak spots more easily. Along with the bolts and stasis, she can create multiple neon rockets to hit a large group of people/things at the same time. If she's absorbed enough neon, she can create a singularity that draws in her enemies and surrounding loose objects for a few seconds, then explode.
She can create a force field around herself to temporally stun her enemies if they come too close. Also, she transform herself into neon to move at superhuman speeds, jump large distances, and run up walls. She can slow her falls with neon thrusters from her hands.
Personality: Generally, Fetch is head-to-toe punk. Live fast, die young, carpe diem.
On the outside, Fetch sees like a confident, if rough and sarcastic, individual. She speaks rather vulgarly and pretty straight forward. She doesn't like taking orders and chaffed at having to do so. However, the one person she ever listened to was Brent, her late brother. But under neigh the clothes, language, and general harshness, is a very vulnerable young woman. In the past, Fetch had many panic attacks, nearly triggering her powers, but was only able to calm down thanks to Brent, or good memories she had of the two of them. Without him, she lost control and destroyed lots of things in her path. After escaping the D.U.P van, she became very fearful that she would be recaptured and sent back to Curdan Cay. Besides the anxiety, she's also very angry. She's angry for the fact she was rejected by her parents, lost her brother due to a double cross, and was imprisoned and made a weapon for the government. The one highlight of her life now is that she can seek her own brand of “justice”, killing all the drug dealers in Seattle to keep anyone else from suffering the way she and Brent did all those years. She pays homage to her late brother by burning his name in their chests, and leaving up a neon graffiti-ed tribute at the place she'd been forced to kill him. As an ex-junkie, she can be jittery and paranoid at times.
With the current state of her world, she defies authority at every turn. Her parents turned her in to the government because of her abilities, losing trust in them because of it. In her eyes, no loving parent would dare turn their child in. As a conduit, she's been hunted down by the Department of Unified Protection (D.U.P) and spent several years at Curdan Cay, a prison for her kind, trained to kill. Being under lock and key for simply her existence is enough for anyone to become distrustful of someone with a badge and gun, or someone who just wants her to do something. On a lighter note, she displays her abhorrence for law and order by tagging the sides of buildings with neon graffiti, always in honor of her late brother.
Years on the streets, the loss of her brother, and her imprisonment have hardened her. She no longer innocent and finds no problems in having to kill. However, she kills whom she feels deserves it; which generally makes up drug dealers.
However if one can get under all that and gain her trust, she's a great ally to have at your side. She cares and is a good friend. She's passionate about the conduit cause and wants to save them from what she had to go through, as well as others whom had to drugs or prostitution. With friends she can be a bit of a goof ball or passionate.
Why would your character be chosen? She's a runaway from both her home and the government, and one with extraordinary powers. With no ties to anyone beyond the memory of her brother, she'd be perfect to take.
Also, neon powers are cool.
How much does your character know about nonhumans? Fetch knows there's humans and Conduits, but that's it. She wouldn't have any knowledge about aliens, demons, angels, etc. beyond what she's seen in comic books or in other media. She's especially an anime fan, so she'd have exposure in that regard, but that's it.
Why this character: While I was playing First Light (which admittedly my first exposure to the inFamous series, I was drawn to Fetch. Her back story was sad and her current predicament worse. Most of all it was her attitude and dedication to her brother that finally cinched it. Then I went on to go through Second Son where her story get's finished up, and I decided then I just had to play her somewhere. With the rather large X-Men population the game has, I thought a similar type character would be great to throw at them.
She's a loose cannon who can get into lots of trouble.

First-Person: [After panicking she'd been captured by the DUPs again and nearly attacked the greeter, Fetch was feeling agitated. Very agitated. She wanted to run through the ship, blast holes, and find some way out of it. Captivity of any sort wasn't her thing, though who could blame her?
Managing a video, Fetch fidgeted, shaking her hands in excess energy, shifting between feet, and standing somewhere in the ship. Dressed in inmate orange with “Department of Unified Protection” brandished on her back.]
So let me get this straight. We're all brought here, taken outta our comfy homes, just so some guy can marry one of us? But we can't get in touch with him?
[She snorted, rolling her eyes.]
Yeah. Sorry guys. That's not for me. Think I might pay our captain a visit. Anyone try blasting down the door?
Third-Person: Her first night back on the familiar streets of Seattle. The first night in the past seven years where she felt free, safe. No more exercises. No more locked down powers; which had once been a blessing, but not anymore. Finally she could make good on her promise. She could make sure that no one else suffered like she and Brent had. Never again.
Brent. Oh, Brent.
It was easy, that first kill. It shouldn't have been so, but they made it so easy. Damn drug dealers looking out for their next prey, casting a single strand of web in the form of a first hit. Get them hooked and back for more. It was never enough.
She'd approached him, fearless, confident in her abilities now. The DUP had given her the tools needed to be a killing machine, and with a simple shot of neon through the head, that was it. The dealer had struggled of course, threatened her, begged for mercy. But there was no mercy for a man who made his living slowing killing, tearing families apart. She laughed in his face, enjoying the moment of fear in his eyes. She'd teased him even. Blasted him into a temporary stasis for the fun of it. Kept him on edge. Slowly hit his weak spots, leaving him begging for it to stop. The simple blast of neon was just the icing on the cake. The same for every damn bit of drugs with the dealer, all burnt to a glowing crisp. She'd left her calling card of course, the first of many. A neon purple skull gesturing to hush. The reaper was back baby.
So easy. Soon, the streets would be safe again. No more suffering in the name of drugs. No more fighting, stealing, killing, for that hit. That high. No more.
She'd celebrated with a slice of pizza with money from the dealer's wallet. Oh, so good. It'd been seven years too long, locked away like some animal, abomination.
She was well on her way to making things right.
